Christmas Lights

11:37 AM

Oh the joys of getting the Christmas Tree lights out. Not.

Don't get me wrong, once they are on the tree their super pretty, but the process of getting on the tress is not so pretty.

I took it upon myself this year to put the lights on the tree. I sat for about an 45 minuets or so just trying to get the dang things untangled.

Then of course you have that one stand of lights that one half lights up then the other half dosen't.

After about an hour and a half, I finally got them all untangled and up on the tree.
Mission Accomplish!

Oh and before you go commenting on my Christmas tree lighting skills ;) I noticed its been forever since I've done a "Simply Samantha Q&A" sooooooooo......

Hope you all find some awesome deals out there!

9:19 PM

So, I hope you all had an amazing thanksgiving! Ours was very quiet, except for the occasional "driving each other crazy" But whats family without those moments.

We started with food - Yummy gluten-free cinnamon rolls

And ended with WAY to much food -Thanksgiving dinner
(i think our eyes were bigger then our stomachs)

And of course we participated in the wonderful Black Friday shopping. However I passed on the 4am shopping trip that my sister and mom took. I slept in a little bit longer and headed back out with them to find some awesome deals.

I actually got most of my shopping done on Thanksgiving via the internet ( HALLELUJAH!) so it was nice knowing I could look for me and not feel guilty ;)

I would like to make note that i'm not a fan of big crowds, and the ONLY time I felt claustrophobic in the craziness of our Black Friday shopping was when we went into "Bath and Body works" as much as I love that place I was getting SUPER claustrophobic. Its like "Lets see how many people we can cram into ONE little store". Really?.

So I only came out of the whole shopping day with 2 shirts. Which is Okie Dokie with me :D I'm going back to the mall in a week anyway ;)

  • Beatles Tee - $1.50 (after what was left on my gift card was used)
  • Plaid long sleeve top - $5 (it was actually $10 but mom said she'd get it for me, so even though she paid, I chipped in half cause she also bought me lunch ;)

I hope you all got some awesome deals this Friday! And now we can begin to celebrate......

So for this wonderful month of christmasness, my music player here on the blog is full of my favorite christmas music! Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving

1:02 PM

Yea, I know its a little early but I just wanted to wish all my sweet blog friends a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Tuesday Training

2:00 PM

Hey Everyone,

Are all of you already pre-paring for thanksgiving????!! We have. Mom just got back a little bit ago from the store with food for our yummy thanksgiving dinner. Can't wait to make some yummy greenbean casserole!

Also Friday is "black friday"! Shopping! Oh YA! I'm already researching some good deals for Christmas presents for the family! Can't wait for Friday to come.

I have only two classes off this week. So I got some extra time on my hands.

SOOOO instead of doing some fun stuff with my extra time, I've been focusing on getting my dogie back on a calm and submissive path.
Ya, sounds really important right.
There's been a lot of stuff going on lately and Jaxson's become a nervous willy nilly so the past 2 days I've been working on getting him back into a sumwhat calm and submissive state.
Dog Whisperer I am not, but hey, at lest I'm trying ;)

(1) The Beatles on Itunes! Tuesday was a great day for many people because Apple finally got the ok to release the entire Beatles music collection for download on Itunes! I'm so happy! I haven't bought any songs yet but I will soon!!!!
The Beatles

(2) Blogs that make me Laugh. Hyperbole and a Half is one of them! If you haven't seen this girls blog... well.. Just click here and check it out!

(3) Funny friends. So EVERYBODY has to have that one person that makes them laugh. I figured it was about time that my funny friend got some face time on this blog ;)
We literally can go from talking about history to how HOT Zac Efron is within seconds.
And we also have a hard time hearing each other and burst out laughing when we say what we thing the other person has said.
Example - The other day in the car my friend said "I'll help you with dinner" and I though she said "I love you too dear". Needless to say we laughed the rest of the way home.

Tuesday Thoughts - Car Ride?!

10:41 AM

Car Ride time! My dog LOVES car rides. If a car door is open, he is in the car and you wont get him out until you drive him somewhere!
Which is pretty funny seeing that when he was about 1 or 2 years old he HATED car rides. He cried and cried till we got to our destination.
But as you can see. That has changed :D

Three Dog Bakery Review

12:36 PM

My dog is a sucker for treats. Whoes dogs isn't??

As a loving dog owner I only want to give my dogie the best and most natural treats that aren't CRAZY expensive.

That's were Three Dogs Bakery comes in!
They make ALL NATURAL, oven baked treats for dogs and even cats!

Here's a little bit about the company -

It's really that simple. We love dogs, so we make the best all natural, oven-baked dog treats, pastries, and food. We select premium all natural ingredients and then oven bake them to perfection. We do NOT add chemicals, fillers, or refined sugars-only the best dog food for our companions! It's our way of helping your (and our) pets live a long, healthy, happy, tail-wagging life. In fact, this is why dogs love us!

Isn't that great!

The lovely people over at Three Dog Bakery sent me and Jaxson some awesome Christmas time treats from their holiday collection!

As you can see he couldn't wait to get into them!!

The First is the Banana and Cranberry Holiday Duo Wafers!- $15.99

I got to say these are probably Jaxson's favorite. One, he loves bananas! And two they smell SOOO GOOD and satisfy his little tummy!
Their also great for big multiple dog home!

Next was the Begg-Nog (isn't that just cute!) Classic Square Wafer. - $7.99

I wasn't to sure if Jaxson would like these at first. Boy, was I wrong! He loved these too!
These would make a great gift for Christmas for a friend or coworker that might have a pup!

Lastly were these cute Miniature Snickerdoodles! - $6.99

I love these because they are easy to carry around in you pocket. I've been using them when people stop by our house and Jaxson's is nice, calm and submissive. Also, their great to give out to the neighborhood dogs. ;)
These are also a GREAT stocking stuffer for your dogie! Jaxson has a stocking so I think we know what he's getting for Christmas!

Christmas List

2:11 PM

Yes, I know. I'm 17 years old. I shouldn't be making a Christmas list.

With family out of state. My mom say's it really helps her if we have a list of things we would like for Christmas so she can easily tell the family instead of asking me what I want.
Plus, its more of a surprise for us come christmas :D

So November is when i start putting my list together.

Wanna knows whats the top of my christmas list this year???

The NFL has a online shop. Wear you can by just about anything football! My favorite thing about their shop is that you can custom make your own jersey! How awesome is that!

I couldn’t exactly label my costume it but my friend finally gave a appropriate name for it. Realistic 70’s. Ya, I think that about sums it up :D

Book Review - Don't Kiss Him Goodbye

9:00 AM

Don't Kiss Him Goodbye
By Sandra Byrd
Price $6.99
Paperback: 256 pages

About the book
It was just a kiss. A simple kiss, a quick kiss, an innocent peck because they were saying good-bye and no one was watching. But someone was watching them—me. Not that I’d meant to. I didn’t know why the kiss troubled me, but it did. I hid it well, though. Or so I thought.
As Savvy Smith settles into her first year at a new high school in a new country, she discovers yet another new English tradition: the May Day Ball. And as luck would have it, everyone has a date to the dance . . . except Savvy. That is, until she meets a guy with a reputation for trouble. What will she do? Follow her heart? Follow the crowd? Or follow her own advice?
London Confidential: Where British fashion, friendships, and guys collide, and where an all-American girl learns to love life and live out her faith.

About the Series-
London Confidential is a new series for young girls. In the series, British fashion, friendships, and guys collide as an all-American teen girl learns to love life and live out her faith. The series follows Savvy's entertaining attempts to fit in during her first year at a new school in a new country.

About the Author

Best-selling author Sandra Byrd has published more than three dozen books in the Christian fiction and non-fiction market. Her newest series for young adults, London Confidential, debuted in April, 2010. Sandra also has a number of nonfiction titles available for women and tweens/teens.Several of Sandra's shorter works appear in periodical markets such as Today's Christian Woman(Kyria), Relevant, Clubhouse, Pockets, Decision, Susie, and Guideposts. For nearly a decade Sandra has shared her secrets with the many students she mentors through the Christian Writers Guild. Before turning to full-time writing, Sandra was an acquisitions editor in the ABA market. She lives in the Seattle, Washington, area with her husband and two children.

My Review
I've ALWAYS loved Sandra's books for teen girls. So I was SO excited to review this book for her!

I don't like christian teen books that are to much about romance. If that makes sense. I'd like books that have a tiny bit a romance but really focus on the girl of the story and her relationship with God. Sandra seems to have the balance. You get that "girl likes boy" romance but its not overpowering and you really connect with the main character.

I love "Don't Kiss Him Goodbye" because its a cute and unique story about a girl just trying to find her way in a new country. The characters are funny and relatable an the story is different and really grabs your attention.

I REALLY recommend this book for young tween/teen girls! And ANY of Sandra's books!

You can find all of Sandra's books here!
