What Do You Think Of Me?

8:00 AM

List Price: $12.99
Paperback: 160 pages
Publisher: New Growth Press (October 1, 2011)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1935273868

About the book -
In an increasingly unstable culture, being obsessed with what others think is an escalating struggle among teens and young adults, leading to more serious consequences than ever before. Although everyone—whether they’re sixteen or sixty—works hard to win someone’s approval or ward off someone’s rejection, these issues plague teenagers and young adults with particular intensity. And how teens and young adults answer the big questions of their lives now will affect the direction of their adult lives for better or worse. In his new book, What Do You Think of Me? Why Do I Care?: Answers to the Big Questions of Life (New Growth Press, October 2011), Edward T. Welch extends hope to those weary of hiding behind a mask of performance in order to gain love and acceptance.
Why do you care? Why do we all care? These are questions that can’t be answered without listening to God, the One who made us and knows us better than we know ourselves. In What Do You Think of Me? Why Do I Care? Welch takes the big questions of life and shows that freedom from what people think of us comes as we learn who God is and who we are in relationship to Him. Only then will we be able to let go of our masks, stop trying to fill our leaky love cups and begin to live for something bigger than ourselves.

An interactive book, What Do You Think of Me? Why Do I Care? includes questions throughout the text for individual or group study and is especially aimed at teenagers and young adults. A corresponding website rich with controversy and dialogue, My-Big-Life-Question.com, will also offer readers a place to discuss personal needs as well as to find other resources for life’s journey and places to go for help.

“I want to draw people to the path of becoming truly human, where you are controlled by God more than other people and where you love others more than you need them to love you,” says Welch. “The result? Genuine loving relationships and the ability to make a lasting impact on the world around us. It’s a hard process, but it’s wonderful and the results are worth it.”
Author Bio: Edward T. Welch, M.Div., Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist and faculty member at the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF). He has counseled for over twenty-five years and is the best-selling author of many books, including When People Are Big and God Is Small; Addictions: A Banquet in the Grave; Blame It on the Brain?; Depression: A Stubborn Darkness; Crossroads: A Step-by-Step Guide Away from Addiction; Running Scared: Fear, Worry and the God of Rest; and When I Am Afraid: A Step-by-Step Guide Away from Fear and Anxiety. Me - This book is great. Especailly for someone (like myself) who has the same exact questions as the ones on the front of the book.

Let's talk..

12:00 AM

..about my camera situation.

You see, It's been almost 3 months since my dear little Nikon broke.
Poor thing, I just picked it up one day and his lens made a very terrible sound.

So, now Nikon is lens-less. And I am stuck with Itouch and his fun but low quality camera.

OH Nikon how I wish I could fix you little lens, but yet, it will cost me an arm and a leg so you must wait dear little one, just wait :)

You never know. I might just get you a sister :)

Bad Combination

12:00 AM

Ice Cream and Sushi.
Yea. Though I ate them separately, I think the combination of the two together in my little tummy,
(which has been very comparative lately anyway)
did not go over well :)

I"m already feeling a tad better but I'm wiped out from just laying on the couch moaning all day :P
Which I hate doing cause I feel like I'm recreating Cameron from "Ferris Bullers Day off"

Oh and I'm losing my voice :) fun :)

The joys of sickness :D

(1) The Civil Wars - I KNOW, I'm super slow and am just NOW getting on The Civil Wars bandwagon. And I agree. They are amazing :) Below is one of my favorites :)

As you can tell, simple things like pens, make me happy ;)

(3) This wedding dress - I may be still on wedding "high" since on of my best friends just got married but isn't this dress just stunning!

(4) The newEST hunger games still - I mean COME ON! How amazing is it! Peeta is just so freaking adorable and handsome and Katniss is just beautiful! I seriously can't not wait for the movie. March 2nd will mark a year since I became hooked on those amazing books. Seemes fitting since the movie is coming out weeks after that :)

BTW you might wanna check out Laurens post about this photo. I was LOL with laughter :)

The Trip

12:19 AM

Thanks for putting up with me being MIA this week/weekend)
I had such a nice trip and I of course remembered to take some photos for you all :)

  • Started the day off with a funny text from a friend.

  • On the way to the airport.

  • Dreamed about Ireland on the plane. One day :)

  • Regan International is a beautiful airport (but thats coming from a person that's only been in 2)

  • Driving past the amazing DC monuments at night is breath taking :)

  • All preped and ready the next morning for the wedding!

The wedding was BEAUTIFUL. My friend looks amazing and its still hard to believe she's married!!

  • I realized I miss the Maryland landscape. Hills, farms, more hills :) So beautiful :)

  • Found my "little" (more like big) footprints/hand-prints at the grandparents.

  • On the way back to the airport - Washington Monument in clean view.

  • Enjoying a little coffee before the flight. Yum Yum!

  • I love that feeling of being above the clouds. Nothing like it :)

The trip was short but great. It was great to catch up with family and friends in my home state :)
Now I'm back to the old school grind.. fun stuff!
So please excuse me as I try to get back into the swing of school/blogging/work :)

(BTW i hate that my nose looks extremely large in this picture ;p )

I found out...

6:07 PM

I found out..
  • That O'Town has an amazing indoor rock climbing place.
  • My climbing skillz are still present :)
    • I can get competitive very quickly.
    • My upper body strength needs some work.
  • That getting to the top of a rock climbing wall is so satisfying
  • That I have the coolest friend ever, cause even after I yelled at him twice while climbing, he still wanted to hang out with me at the end of the day.
  • and eating Chipotle was the best way to end one of the funnest days I've had in a while.

Friday Favorites

2:10 AM

(1) - Wednesday has now become Bowling Day -

(2) - Tangled Ever After - What sinks is you have to pay $8 to see this cause its a short before the re-release of "Beauty and the Beast".  But it looks so CUTE it might be worth it :)

(3) - My mug - I love this mug :) Its been my companion these past 3 days with this cold snap we are having in FL :)

(4) - Your hands are cold. - This scene! Ah, no matter how many times i read it, watch it, think about it, it gets me EVERYTIME! Oh my goodness! Perfection!!

Elizabeth: I couldn’t sleep.
Mr. Darcy: Nor I. My aunt…
Elizabeth: Yes, she was here.
Mr. Darcy: How can I ever make amends for such behavior?
Elizabeth: After what you’ve done for Lydia, and I suspect Jane, it is I who should be making amends.
Mr. Darcy: You must know, surely you must know it was all for you. You are too generous to trifle with me. You spoke with my aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope as I’ve scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I would have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on.
Elizabeth: Well, then. Your hands are cold.

Can't wait to see your friday favorites!

Me: "Buddy? what are you doing?"
Little Man: "Making a tent."
Me: "Oh, well, we can go upstairs and make one and watch a movie."
Little Man: "No, I wanna make it here."
Me: "Why?"
Little Man: "Because I can put this blanket over the heater vent in the floor and make a warm Air Tent."
Me: "ok....."

I enjoyed my first day back at work :)
