I really had nothing to blog about except pictures of my newest daily outfit,
soooo.. i decided to just talk about what I learned this weekend.

so this weekend I learned~

  • I miss my Carebear. Even after 9 years of being apart, there are still just days when I want to drive to her house, grab some Starbucks, and just talk. Emails are sometimes not good enough. Dang you distance.
  • Buns hurt if worn too long. Seriously. I took mine out RIGHT as I got home from school and i was nursing that dang headache all night. Poo... But they are so cute, why must i go through pain to look cute??

  • I make really good sweet tea. Well... I think its good.
  • Though I am not a morning person. Seeing mister, in all his 6'5'' gloriousness, standing in my bedroom doorway first thing in the morning, makes me a VERY happy girl.
  • Pink shoes rule.

Shirt: Papaya // Jeans: SO from Kolhs // Shoes: Thrifted // Jacket: Christmas gift // Necklace: Gift from mister

There seems to be a trend, if you haven't noticed, with my daily outfit post(s).
Straight Hair.
Boys that are reading, you can skip this post. Girl moment.
I like curling my hair. But not on school days. Just to lazy I guess.
That and it takes 25 minuets to curl my hair. That's to long for me some days.
My hair needs a cut too.
However, I want to wait a couple more weeks so it will be nice an fresh for Valentines day...
..cause I gotta look good for my man;)
Dang you thick hair.

You know

12:00 AM

Next year, It will be 10 years since my little northern booty landed in Florida. This has led me to contemplate some of the reasons/facts that make you realize you're a Floridian compared to a northerner.

(these are all true for me btw)

You know you are a Floridian when...

1.Anything under 65* with wind feels like you are living in Minnesota.
2.When it is under 65* you bundle up with many layers as possible
3.Even if it's cold you contemplate still wearing flip flops
4. You buy sunscreen in winter because its cheep and on clearence
5. #4- same goes for flip flops and shorts
6.You get extreamly excited when the humility is gone and you can finally open the windows
7. Making sure you are tan enough for shorts is a priority.
8.You dread love bug season.
9.Flip-flops are everyday wear. Shoes are for business meetings and church, but you HAVE worn flip flops to church before.
10.You get annoyed at the tourists who feed seagulls.

First Day Dress

8:00 AM

Dress//LC by Lauren Conrad : Denim shirt//Rue 21 : Shoes//Cotton On : Necklace//Gift from mister

I found it a little weird that I got to were a dress on my first day back to school.
 In January.
I've lived in FL for almost 9 years and I'm still amazed about how bipoloar our weather is. Hopefully it will chill down soon. I'm missing the cold weather.

First day of classes went well. I really enjoyed not having to get up at 8am like I did last semester. An extra hour and half of sleep is perfect and much appreciated this semester.
So is coffee ;)

How was your first day of classes??

Book's to read

Books to read in 2013

What I'm looking forward to reading this year and you should too!

Warm Bodies
I have already read this book this year(read review here), but I REALLY think you should to. Don't let the zombie part sway you. The movies coming out on February 1st and its a great story!

Shades of Earth (Book #3 of Across the Universe) - January 15th 2013 (comes out today!)
I'm SO excited for this book! Beth Revis is such an amazing writer and I LOVE her concept of her books. If you haven't read the first 2. Get on it cause the 3rd one comes out soon! Its going to be epic.

'Requiem' book cover (Bigger) - requiem Photo
Requiem - March 5th 2013
After how Pandemonium ended (read my reaction here) This is my most anticipated book. I can't say to much of what I'm looking forward to in this book cause I don't want to give anything away!

Sever (The Chemical Garden #3) - February 12th, 2013
These books I've always been "eh" about. There are pro's and con's. However, I will keep reading! And you should too!

Broken Wings (Angel Eyes Trilogy, #2)
Broken Wings - February 19th 2013
This was one of my favorite books last year.I loved how Shannon had a great underlying message that didn't over power the story or characters. And Shannon Dittemore is probably the sweetest twitter follower I've ever had and I can't wait for the release of her 2nd book in the Angle Eye's trilogy, Broken Wings!

Unravel Me book cover - shatter-me-series Photo
Unravel Me - February 5th 2013
AHHHH! This is probably the ONE book I'm absolutely, positively, 100% freaking out,  looking forward too. I  LOVE "Shatter me" and even got a copy signed by Tahereh Mafi. I already know I'm going to have SO many feelings with this book. I don't know if I'll be emotionally ready.

Through the Ever Night
The first book (Under the Never sky) surprised me SO much last year. I was ify about reading it, but I was really surprised how good it was and how much I enjoyed it. Its one of those hidden YA fiction novels, and I can't wait to see what the 2nd books brings
-by the way it is already out! January 8th! So get to reading

Clockwork Princess - March 19th 2013
and LAST but not LEAST, we can always rely on Miss.Cassandra Clare for a great read. TID are my favorite series from her (yes more then TMI). BTW isn't the cover amazing! Beautiful.

What books are you excited for this year!!!??
Let me know. I love book suggestions!

*also if you are a publisher/author and would like for me to review any of the books above or ANY books! Feel free to contact me at my email in my PR tab!

First Day

12:00 AM

Eh. Today is my first day back at school. The only 2 things about this semester that are even close to exciting is that

1.I am taking pretty easy classes
2.I don't have to get up till 9:30 every morning

Other then that its just . Bleh school..

However. Can we talk about all the new "Catching Fire" pictures!?!

Plus could we take a moment to appreciate Sam Claflin and his amazingness

Friday Favorites

12:00 AM

Samantha's doing a friday favorites post???
Really?? You have got to be kidding!

I'm not kidding. I haven't forgotten about you sweet Friday favorites. Its about time to bring you back into the blogging world again.

This FF has a theme though.
Favorite songs.
At the moment

Worship song -
Holy (The Wedding Song) by The City Harmonic.
I mean. Wow. I could worship to this song all the time. I know I've listened to it on repeat in my car on the way to school numerous times. The City Harmonic is so amazing and I have followed them since their first release last year! Check them out!

Musical song -
On my Own - Samantha Barks
So my favorite things to do now is listen to my Les Miserable's movie soundtrack on my trek to see the mister, it makes the drive to the coast seem short and I get to belt my wonderful theater voice! (TOTAL sarcasm there)
It took everything in my body not to sing this in the theater. Its my favorite from the entire movie. And its a plus that the actress's name is Samantha.
Samantha's for the win!

Cutesy lovey dovey, sings lines of it to mister, stuck in my head all the time, on repeat song. -
Boat Song - JJ Heller.
SO in love with this song right now. Its just, everything I want to say and more.
And its just freakin cute ok!

Eshakti Review

12:00 AM

Dress//Eshakti : Shoes//Payless : Necklace//Xmas gift from BF

Isn't this dress beautiful?? I sure think so!
Eshakti is this great fashion company that lets you customize your dress style and size. I didn't have to customize my size too much, but I did make my dress a little shorter to keep up with the very mild winters we have here in Florida.
Eshakti makes getting a dress that fits you in the right way easy and accessible  Also, all their dresses are decently priced. If your looking for a nice dress and a willing to spend just a little more to make sure it fits to your exact measurements, Eshakti is the place for you!

And let me say their customer service is great! The first dress I picked out ended up not fitting me right, so I emailed them and they were more then happy to send me a new dress in a new style! Yippee.

To learn more about Eshakti visit their site here!

*this dress was sent to me by Eshakti in exchange for a review. The opinions and photos are 100% all mine.

Book Review - Warm Bodies

12:00 AM

Book Review:
Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

I saw the trailer for the movie a couple weeks ago, and even though i haven't succubus to the "zombie's are cool" hype lately, the movie looked almost cute, and after doing some research I found out it was based off a book. SO of course, being the bookie that I am. I had to read it.

What its about

R is a young man with an existential crisis--he is a zombie. He shuffles through an America destroyed by war, social collapse, and the mindless hunger of his undead comrades, but he craves something more than blood and brains. He can speak just a few grunted syllables, but his inner life is deep, full of wonder and longing. He has no memories, noidentity, and no pulse, but he has dreams.
After experiencing a teenage boy's memories while consuming his brain, R makes an unexpected choice that begins a tense, awkward, and stragely sweet relationship with the victim's human girlfriend. Julie is a blast of color in the otherwise dreary and gray landscape that surrounds R. His decision to protect her will transform not only R, but his fellow Dead, and perhaps their whole lifeless world.
Scary, funny, and surprisingly poignant, Warm Bodies is about being alive, being dead, and the blurry line in between.

What I think/though
I found myself "awwing" quite often while reading this book. "R", though a zombie, thinks like a human and draws you in and makes you sympathize with him, it's sometimes unbelievable that you slowly find yourself feeling sorry for a zombie. Isaac Marion's ability to make a zombie relateable its quiet funny and genius. I finished this book RIGHT before the New Year, but I hope you take the time to put it on your "to read in 2013" list.
The ONLY thing I disliked about the book was the use of bad language. Sometime it was a little unnecessary for me. But overall its a great book and you should read it!

R4U - GF Chicken Parm

12:00 AM

Recipe 4 You!
Adapted from "Feeding my Temples:Skinny Chicken Parmesan"
*Photo credit to "Feeding my Temple*
(because i forgot to take a picture with my own camera)

  • 2 (8 oz) chicken breasts, sliced in half (horizontally, or butterflied but cut all the way through. You will end up with 4 pieces of chicken)
  • 3/4 cup of crushed tortilla chips with a couple dashes of garlic salt OR you can use GF bread crumbs w/garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasonings (add more if you like the taste)
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2-2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup reduced fat mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup marinara or your favorite spaghetti sauce
  • cooking spray

Preheat oven to 450°. Line large baking sheet with foil (easy clean up) and spray lightly with cooking spray.

Combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasonings in a bowl. Melt the butter in the microwave in another bowl (this is usually melted after about 20 seconds, so watch it closely.) Lightly brush the butter onto the chicken, then dip into breadcrumb/cheese mixture. Place on baking sheet and repeat with the remaining 3 pieces of chicken.

Lightly spray a little more cooking spray on top (this makes it nice and crispy) and bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Remove chicken from oven and turn over. Spoon sauce over each piece and top with mozzarella cheese and bake another 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

This dish was amazing. Boyfriend and family approved. And SO easy. I made it gluten free by substituting bread crumbs with tortilla chips that I salted with garlic salt. Crushed tortillas are a great sub for most dishes that require GF bread crumbs. And they are cheaper.

First day of 2013

12:00 AM

My first day of 2013 was spent eating chick-fil-a, walking around target, and spending an hour in the wondrous world of a book store.
All with my man.
 Perfect first day.
